I've found one of the hardest skills to practice is self-discipline. Working through the muck of re-learning the basic elements of painting is a very draining, yet satisfying process. So far, doing the Black and White studies is helping to gently wake up the right side of my brain, which has been at rest for a few years. I guess it would be a similar process for a musician who would tune an instrument before playing. I still feel rusty.

It felt like trying to start my poor, old and oh so rusty abandoned car. Took a few tries to get her up and running. Let's see what happens tomorrow. I need oil.
