Embracing Imperfection

I notice the dirt underneath my feet as it gently snuggles against my flesh, inviting me to become the earth for a moment. I inhale the environment, filling my lungs with the minerals that have been at rest, like me. I can taste it's life as it transitions into blood and replaces my emptiness. I feel alive.

Acrylic Wash #2

I thought I would share my process on this series. One of my most difficult obstacles is controlling the inner-critic, who likes perfection. Over the last few years through my life experiences, I have learned that the imperfection is where the beauty truly lies.

The acrylic washing allows the art to form, in it's raw organic state. Then I can let it go.
